Dr. Marissa Kaloga is the Director of Business Innovation and Training at The Economic and Community Development Institute, a non-profit CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution) and the 3rd largest SBA micro-lender in the United States. In this role she uses the knowledge developed during her research with micro-enterprises in Africa and Asia to inform the design of innovative programs that support entrepreneurs across Ohio, focusing on promoting the inclusion of diverse and marginalized populations. Dr. Kaloga holds a PhD in Social Work from the Ohio State Universityís College of Social Work with a Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in Global Health through the OSU College of Medicineís Health Sciences Center. She also holds an MSW in Community and Social Justice and Bachelorís Degrees in both International Studies (B.A.) and Business Administration (B.S.). She is a two time recipient of the Edward J. Ray Award for Scholarship and Exceptional Service and is the recipient of the Merriss Cornell Research Award.
